Vance Teen Center
The Teen Center encompasses two programming options which are available to dependents of all base personnel (including active duty, contractors, DOD civilians, and ID card holders) ages 9-18. The options are the Teen Program (registered teens ages 13-18), and the Open Recreation program (registered youth ages 9-12). Both programs are affiliated with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and 4-H, and are subject to the same curriculum scope and guidelines. Youth who register for the Teen Center or Open Recreation program also receive a membership to the BGCA!
The Vance AFB Teen center is currently providing various events, activities, and programming to enhance the development of youths ages 9-18. In keeping with Youth Programs requirements, many programs are currently ongoing in the center. Some of those programs include: 4-H, Torch Club, Keystone Club, Youth Sponsorship Program, Youth of the Year, STE(A)M, as well as a wide variety of BGCA curriculum. This curriculum focuses on five core areas: the arts, character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, sports fitness and recreation.
Although the Teen Center and Open Recreation programs are housed in the same facility, the operating hours differ for each. Members ages 9-12 are able to visit the Teen Center daily during Open Recreation, which occurs during the first few hours of operation. The Teen Center is open six days a week.
If you are new to the area, we have a youth sponsorship program available. Please call the Teen Center to set up a tour appointment. Customers are required to fill out AF Form 88, provide shot records (including current flu shot), and pay an annual registration fee of $10. Enrollment and payments can be completed at the Youth Center, Bldg 323 (across from the pool), between 0630-0930 and 1400-1730 Mon-Fri.
