The library offers a wide variety of materials, programs and activities for preschool children, school-age children, teens, and adults. Among services provided are Internet access on 12 computers, DVD movies, fiction, non-fiction, children's and reference books, books on CD and playaways, and Mango Language
The library has two new TV's with Blue-ray DVD players that are can
be used by customers for viewing DVD's or connecting to a laptop computer.
A tablet for use by children in the library that has games, stories and
drawing/graphics is available for check out. The tablet will need to be checked out
by an adult that has a library account and taken to the children's section for use on
the table. At the current time there is not a limit on the time used.
Stop by the library to check out the new GoChip Beans that have been added to our collection. We have action, adult comedy, animation, crime, family comedy, kids, romance and war movies. Plus we also have TV series such as Angry Birds, The Black List, Community, Outlander and Spectacular Spider Man.
During February and March, the Youth Center brought 12 children (preK-5th grades) to the VAFB library as part of their after school program.
Facilitated by the VAFB Library Director, Cathy Benge, the children participated in MakerSpace Monday’s.
During February children learned about structural soundness, engineering, and communication with Lego lessons.
March’s MakerSpace Monday’s are focused on the foundations of coding.
